NEW YORK

I started to photograph in NYC when I was 19 years old. Many of these photographs are among my first I ever took. There is a quality in the streets and people of New York which always stimulates me. New York is in my blood. Many of the early pictures were recently exhibited at the June Bateman Gallery in Soho.

YOSEMITE

I was park photographer in Yosemite in the early 70's when Ansel Adams was active. My photographs in this section were influenced by West Coast view camera style of Weston and Adams, who themselves were influenced by Carleton Watkins and Thomas Moran. Yosemite is so grand nobody can resist its siren call.

POINT REYES - BLACK AND WHITE

Living and working in Point Reyes I have had the opportunity to see the landscapes and light change dramatically with the seasons. The long sinuous lines of the Point Reyes landscape suggest panoramic compositions. The fog and grey days encourage black and white.

POINT REYES - COLOR

Many of these photographs are in our book, Point Reyes Visions. Formats of the photographs vary from 4x5 to 35mm. To date we use film cameras and scan the images for both archival pigment prints and publication. These pictures are used by the park and for conservation groups.

BALI

Bali is a tiny island in Asia which is part of the country of Indonesia. It is a tropical paradise which has a vibrant culture of music, art and dance. The peace of the island was shattered by a bombing last year. This has had the effect of ruining its economy. I want you to see Bali's beauty and encourage you to visit because it is the most wonderful place I have ever been. The people are peaceful and kind and need our support.

THE HIPPIES

THe Hippies were an amazing group of people, who dropped out of society, to try a experiment in living together, sharing resources, getting high and living a spiritual, peacful and meaningful life. It was a rejection of materialism, a period of great sex and wonderful music. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Jefferson Airplane and the Grateful Dead fueled the movement, just to name a few of the bands.
